So I'm getting lunched at a very fine restaurant just off Bond St. The food is delicious, as are the waitresses. The mademoiselle assigned to our table is telling me how she's just come over from Paris, she doesn't know anyone, and she's really looking forward to exploring London. I must confess I'm not particularly paying attention. So it's only afterwards, when I'm on the tube, that the penny drops - ah, that's what she was saying to me. Bugger...........

Its like getting too much change in a shop, its a dilemma.. you need to be quick, ‘shall I take the money ?!’ ‘its a big outfit, they can afford it, but then again its stealing,,, but they’re ripping me off anyway’ ‘what to do?!’ of course if you take the cash you’re sure to be arrested, punched to the ground by a surly security guard, jostled by the Police, embarrassing court appearances, losing your job, , house, car, partner, all over 5 pence change... oh take the money .. **** it, thats what OBAMA is saying... you couldn’t really turn down a billion, then about another 4 billion over the pathetic $85 million that the Public Purse is giving him in the US Presidential elections, even though it has made him a liar already... its ******’ hilarious, its all about the ******’ money to these people, he could have done OK with the Public Funds, a million a day will buy you a lot of sincere and annoying TV adverts, but no, that's not enough, he has gone back on his word already, and decided to take the billions offered by contributors to his funds. I would do the same if I were him because I’m not a politician, I’m allowed to lie , cheat, scrabble around in the pool of despair that us ordinary beings have to contend with... I would be piling millions in to offshore bank accounts and buying up Islands of the coast of Panama (are there Islands there - must be ?), go in for a minor operation in some South American hospital, and quietly leave through the back door when no-one’s watching... but that's me !!! not the superhero of American politics, that all the little people have been donating their $25. dollars to, to get rid of the lying inept turd brain that they currently have residing in Capital Hill... c’mon kids if he’s lying now what's he going to do when he gets in ??!! liar liar pans on fire..
I was extremely impressed by The Verve at Glastonbury,,, not a big fan, but they seem to have turned in to a confident & huge stadium band, and certainly Richard Ashcroft has taken control, I liked the fact that he really sings, and has pushed his voice live and that there was so much space in their sound... I wish someone would give Mark Ronson a push off the precipice though, this was the most dreadful and 'show-band' load of tripe I've ever heard... why not go the whole hog and book himself out for weddings.. ******' dreadful, and take Lilly Allen with you, doesn't even know the lyrics to her own hit records.. probably because her Dad wrote it..
its the last day of pushing myself on an unsuspecting Public relentlessly, after all there are much more interesting things going on, like the new 'Green Taxes' Gordon Brown' is imposing so we can pay more for Global warming, deal done, sounds good to me, only I don't have a warming yet, just rain rain rain, so I may be going and kicking Gordon in the goolies, Gordon in the goolies Gordon in the goolies (join in!)

Author: Max Chen aka Stegosaurus Rex At first glance from the CD art, I thought the music contained inside would be terrible. This is clearly an instance of "don’t judge an album by its cover," because the tracks were loaded with some of the best tracks I have heard in a while. Filled to the brim with an eclectic mix of shoegaze and soul, peace and power, rhythm and restlessness, Marshall Star’s Cosmos is a winner. From the first track "Goodbye Truly," I was presented with a taste of vocalist Mandy’S Bright powerful breath competing with the complex, noisy layers of post-punk sound, and I knew that there were going to be some gems on the recording. Track 4 "The Pleasure Seekers" eerily reminds me with its desolate lyrics and its heavy synth-pop beat of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)." Track SCRATCHMAGAZINE.COM - Though bands such as Portishead and Morcheeba have made inroads in similar styles, no band yet has pushed the envelope as far as Marshall Star. Give this U.K. band huge marks for creativity and an uncompromising attitude. ‘it’s an album with a ferocio us vocal talent‘ - Whisperin&Hollerin reviews website
yes, I know, I didn't send anything out to the worldly planet of interweb for a couple of days, christ give me a break... my intertwerp has been off, quite nice really, people seem to get along fine without the internonce,,, well here goes, it won't be much longer, but a girl (a eerrr lady in my case probably) has to push herself: Marshall Star - "Cosmos" - CD - [Furry Records UK) REVIEWS UNFUNRECORDS.COM http://unfunrecords.com/wordpress/?p=83 Author: Max Chen aka Stegosaurus Rex At first glance from the CD art, I thought the music contained inside would be terrible. we’re not far off a Guns ‘n’ Roses reunion, to cash in on Axl’s new album, 14 years and $14. million in the making, and who can blame him, I would do exactly the ******’ same, as well as sacking the band a dozen or so times... ******’ bands , you can’t trust them w******, after all look at that Coldplonk band, Chris Martin is ok, the funny dancing, and a bit monkey man and flailing arms at the front of the stage,,, he was looking a bit ‘rock me daddio’ the other night when I saw him at the BBC,.. like yer dad doing the Dad dance, but he is essentially all right even though he is having a homosexual relationship with Ricky Gervais, and Jo Wiley (well a threesome actually-its official you heard it here first)... I was just listening to a bit of that Stone Roses album, you know, the comeback one that sounded like Led Zeppelin without the screamy vocals.. and it did sound really good which got me to thinking that they will almost definitely be back together by this time next years, just in time for the plethora of endless festival appearance opportunities,,, along with the Axl’s & Slashy’s reunion, coz Velvet Revolver’s are finished aren’t they... I should be a Rock writer shouldn’t I, coz I seem to know so mush about what’s going in, the only problem being that I do like music and I wouldn’t be able to slate people’s life’s works, all that creativity and crystal plastic CD covers gone to waste, because it has to be demeaning to be a music critic, all that frustration that they we’re never quite what they wanted to be, always looking on at something they admire, or despise, and even when they admire it, they pretend to despise it, or they just don’t even bother to listen,, the other problem being that their little writing fingers can’t get those plastic cellophane covers off, so tired from all those endless free gigs they have to attend,, soooo tired listening to music, how do they do it ??,,, and (where was I), back to Chris Martin, sack the band and get one of those Elton John hair transplants, or get the curly mop greased down over your big extra cleverly forehead, Ricky would like that... so and on to more reviews, I saw myself unbelievably on Teletext, for those of you out there who may not live in the UK, its a naff and crappy way to buy holidays and things, that is in a really bad place on the TV remote, about 277 on the programmes list, not that anyone looks at it anyway thankfully, and I don’t know how they get hold of it (my CD album), as I never ******’ sent them a copy, but it got the most awful 2 out of 10, which I guess I should be thankful for, when I see what they gave 8 out of 10 to... and when I see they gave Sigur Rusk 5/10, if I was liked I may be doing the wrong thing... but what made me chuckle, and made me realise that they hadn’t opened the cellophane wrap , as, due to the fact (previously mentioned) that they have very poorly tired out little pandy-handy fingers, they compared my album , and yes, get this, to music used in Star Wars, and in the film Never Ending Story,,, that would be bloody all right by me, I WISH ! I would love to get my tracks in those films, so Jenny Pashkova, just because you didn’t even open the wrapper, I know where you are and I am not one of those people who take ignorant journo’s well, I am a little bit Morrissey, a little bit Kray Twins, see ya’ soon ! put that on your rubbish student CV when your trying to find a decent job in the music industry and smoke it, and I’m residing in my palatial palace counting the residuals from ‘Never Ending Story’ nnniiiicccceeeeee... anyway, here’s a 'review' Jen’s, try some writing for a change, and 49 friends on mySpace.cok, what can I say?....

At first glance from the CD art, I thought the music contained inside would be terrible. This is clearly an instance of “don’t judge an album by its cover,” because the tracks were loaded with some of the best tracks I have heard in a while. Filled to the brim with an eclectic mix of shoegaze and soul, peace and power, rhythm and restlessness, Marshall Star’s Cosmos is a winner. From the first track “Goodbye Truly,” I was presented with a taste of vocalist Mandy Bright’s powerful breath competing with the complex, noisy layers of post-punk sound, and I knew that there were going to be some gems on the recording. Track 4 “The Pleasure Seekers” eerily reminds me with its desolate lyrics and its heavy synth-pop beat of Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These).” Track 12, unlisted on the recording (but elsewhere as “Take Me”) is a frantically-paced mixed of dissonance and heavy drums along with Mandy’s sweet voice. The best track on the album, of course, is track 2 “Hopes And Aspirations,” which sounds a bit like Cocteau Twins, but without Elizabeth Frazer’s dull vocal performance. Instead, with the bright and layered wall of noisy melodies, we are given a chance to witness the tour de force of Mandy’s vocals coupled with a powerful marching beat. The aggressive lyrics “got my hopes and aspirations driving me insane” reflects perfectly the maddening movement of such a beautiful track. All I can hope for is for listeners to look past the artwork, and to fully immerse into this album, especially into the more manic tracks.
'Fake tans' coming
under scrutiny by the fashion police of 'Royal Ascot'? What are they trying to say? 'Come as you
are'? Doesn't that contradict the fake upper-classish standard of the 'Royal' 'dress code'? Fakes bashing fakes. What a laugh. Personally, I think good ole Liz would look great in a tan - fake or otherwise.
So a piece of advice, keep your fake tans for Glastonbury mate, the Royal Ascot ain't no prole event!
just so you all know I'm not alone in the Universe here come the feckin' reviews, the good the bad & the ugly abound... what I like is the fact that the cover causes confusiousssness.. immediately propelling the listener in to a dilemma.. you can tell the people who haven't even taken it out of the wrapper before they've reviewed it, as if, just looking at the cover will tell them all about ME !! *****'s... good one though coz' they GOT IT!!!,, all it takes is someone to open the feckin' cellophane and stick it on the turntable and let the joy wash over you... so all you ******' shoegazers out there go out (or stay in) and BUY IT !! Here it is:

(just so you know I'll be posting it everyday so GET USED TO IT !!)
I like the idea of a band name that is the person's actual name... like (huumm,, humm) mine (liar),,, and 'Peaches', unless there's another band who have nicked her name, she seems to be appearing with the Mighty Boosh & Charlatans at the Hop Farm... I'd like to see the M.Booshers, but who could face the Charlatans, and a load of other people in a field in Kent, but... eerr 'Peaches', what does she do ?? It could be thought of as a handicap, perhaps if you had no success, then you are lumbered with the same name, or, w're big in the 80's and everyone says, (adopt stupid probing and sarcastic voice)', "aren't you Nik Kershaw, my sister liked you and I had to come to a gig at Hammersmith Odeon, and you we're crap, but I had to come along as she had tickets, you didn't move on stage and seemed embarrassed about the whole thing, and the percussionists had more personality, and aren't you a vegetarian, Oh, that's Howard Jones isn't it ? I like him though, do you know him ?,, I'd ask for your autograph but my sister likes the Boyszone now", well I made all that up, it wasn't very good really, but you get the gist... Peaches- always and forever!
